Our Founder

Founder_basketballpic"Show people how to have success and then you can push up their expectations."

Lenny Wilkens is a Brooklyn native, but he has deep roots in Bellevue, Washington, where he and his wife have made their home for more than 30 years.

Lenny is a former National Basketball Association player and the league’s all-time winningest coach.  He is one of just three players inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player (1989) and coach (1998).  He’s also a member of the Providence College Athletic Hall of Fame and has been inducted into the Hall of Fame in New York, Missouri and Ohio.  As a player, Lenny was selected to the NBA All-Star team nine times and was named Most Valuable Player in 1971.

Lenny is considered one of the top coaches ever to lead, respectively, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors and Seattle SuperSonics.  He coached the United States “Dream Team” to a gold medal in the 1996 Barcelona Summer Olympics.

Beyond his many successes on the hard court, Lenny has received Honorary Doctorate degrees from Providence College, St. Francis College and Seattle University.  In November, 2006, he was hired as vice chairman of the Seattle SuperSonics’ ownership group and served with the organization until July, 2007.
